Kimotion, formerly known as The Paumalu Symphony was formed in 1975 while Kimo was a student at Berklee. After returniung from a tour of duty in Vietnam, Kimo wrote music that was so unique to his war experiences, he had to form his own ensemble to express his compositional concepts for large ensemble. These concepts involved his own unique harmonic technique called Diagonal Harmony.
